| Welcome to Lazy JV Ranch Babydoll Sheep. We have a small herd and are located near Central City, Kentucky. All of our adult sheep have been Codon Tested and we are in the Volunteer Scrapies Program. We are members of the North American Babydoll Southdown Sheep Association and Registry (NABSSAR) and have all of our Babydolls Registered with them. We really enjoy our babydolls and have just recently started showing them. If you are ever in our area stop by to visit us. Information about Babydolls: These sheep originated in Southeastern England, and were imported by John Ellman to America in the 1800's. They are small in size and are 24 inches or less at the shoulders. Lambing without difficulty is one of the qualities of the "babydolls" therefore ewes under 18 inches are discouraged. Their wool is short, stapled, and fine. Wool on the face gives a teddy bear appearance and a smiling facial expression. They have a gentle temperament and mix well with other animals such as: goats, alpacas, llamas, miniature horses and donkeys. They do not have horns and make great pets. These wonderful little sheep make excellent companions for the young, elderly, handicapped, and as welcome visitors to nursing homes, the homebound, and to people with special needs. Their gentle nature and easy care make them an ideal choice. For more information view the NABSSAR website. |
